The City Council of Torrent (Valencia) has put on public display the Catalog of Protections drawn up by AUG-ARQUITECTOS, SLP. It is an important management instrument that, as established by current legislation, includes several sections: Natural, Landscape, Cultural and Democratic Memory. To get to this point, it has been necessary to overcome a process that began several years ago, during which the first phase of the document’s environmental assessment was completed.
The Torrent Protection Catalog establishes the protection of 583 elements, collected in 407 files. Of the protected elements, 31 are of an archaeological type, 121 of an ethnological type, 20 of Democratic Memory and 411 of an architectural type. Within this group, the vast majority (391) have been protected as “listed assets”, in order to facilitate an easy reconciliation between the assigned protection and the use and enjoyment of the assets, since it is, for the most part, , of buildings for residential use.
During the period of public exhibition, the city council has planned two sessions open to the public that will take place in the hall of the city hall on July 6 and 11.
