THE CITY COUNCIL OF PORTELL DE MORELLA APPROVES TEMPORARILY THE MASTER PLAN

The City Council of Portell de Morella (Castellón), approved the revised Preliminary Version of the Master Plan and the Environmental Report, prepared by AUG-ARQUITECTOS, SLP. With this procedure and subsequent delivery to the Strategic Environmental Assessment Commission for approval, the document is only two steps away from final approval. Its most prominent feature is the containment and sustainability of the proponed growth model, fully consistent with the guidelines of the Territorial Strategy of the Valencian Community. The undeveloped land occupies 99.78% of the municipality, while the urban area reaches 0.15% and 0.07% the remaining developable soil. Within the undeveloped land, the90.56% is protected. These parameters provide an answer to the municipal housing demand in the coming decades while providing as well the possibility of developing a small sector of productive soil, where local companies can be accommodated next to the village, where here are several protected elements classified as BIC and BRL.

As regards the protection of assets, the plan provides an extensive Catalogue of Protected Goods and Spaces reflecting he rich cultural heritage and the concern for their maintenance and enhancement.
