TERRITORIAL PLANNING COMMISSION OF CASTELLÓN APPROVES THE MASTER PLAN OF PAVÍAS

The Territorial Planning Commission of Castellón, in their session of July 19, 2013, approved the Master Plan of Pavías (Castellón) written by AUG-ARQUITECTOS, SLP. This plan, along with that of Forcall (also drafted by this team) has been one of the first in the Valencian Community to complete the strategic environmental assessment process. Its most prominent feature is the containment and sustainability of the proponed growth model, which is fully consistent with the guidelines of the Territorial Strategy of the Valencian Community. The undeveloped land occupies 99.63% of the municipality, while the urban one leaves only a 0.37% remaining, as developable land is not contemplated. Within the undeveloped land, 95.18% of it is protected, a percentage that was dictated by the General Direction of the Environmental annd exceeds what in the opinion of the council and the technical team would have been desirable to preserve any activity. However, these parameters are answer housing demand in the coming decades, while agricultural activities may be constrained as a result of the rigid interpretation of the rules and management of the Natural Park which is in the village, made by the corresponding autonomous organs.
