The Territorial Planning Commission of Castellón, in their session of June 5, 2013, approved the Master Plan of Forcall (Castellón) written by AUG-ARQUITECTOS, SLP. This Plan has been among the first in the Valencian Community to complete the strategic environmental assessment process. Its most prominent feature is the containment and sustainability of the proposed growth model, fully consistent with the guidelines of the Territorial Strategy of the Valencian Community. The undeveloped land ocupies 99.43% of the municipality, while the urban reaches 0.33% of it, leaving a 0.24% of remaining developable soil. Within the undeveloped land, 84.43% is protected. These parameters provide an answer to the municipal housing demand in the coming decades and also provides for the possibility of developing a small sector of productive soil, where they can be accommodated local businesses and the environment can be accommodated.
The effort made to provide protection for existing local enterprises, as well as for those of the vicinity has also been quite remarkable. The protection measures for these assets are collected in an extensive Catalogue of Protected Goods and Spaces which reflects the rich cultural legacy and the concern for their maintenance and enhancement.
