RUBIELOS DE MORA House

DESCRIPTION

Single-family house of new construction, located in Rubielos de Mora, a town declared a Historic-Artistic Site.

The house is developed on two floors and occupies part of a plot of about 780 m². The required ordinance was that of the old town, so that the materials had to be the traditional ones of the area and the sloping roof with Arabic tiles.

The owners wanted a house where they could get together with a lot of family and friends, a functional, bright house open to the landscape. They had a more classical idea of architecture, but thanks to their efforts to adapt, they respected, valued and encouraged technical advice, facilitating dialogue between traditional architecture and architecture with a more current language. The result is a building with a resounding and sober architectural design, integrated into the environment, where light and the landscape are essential keys, with interesting environments full of spatial and sensory nuances, and subtle and studied interior design details that allow the constructive elements are expressed with all their authenticity.

The interior distribution proposal seeks and combines different aspects such as: the light that bathes and models spaces, the interior and exterior visual perspectives, accessible from multiple points of the interior, the interrelation of spaces at double height, the independence of uses and the enjoyment and day-to-day comfort.

Great care has been taken in the choice of the materials used and some of them recover the execution in the traditional and local artisan way, which gives the house a different stamp and an environmental warmth. This method of execution also contributes to the appreciation of craftsmanship, the promotion and development of local work and the reduction of environmental impact. The design of the house has been absolutely respectful of the old surrounding buildings, such as the 16th century hermitage, the 18th century laundry room and the residence for the elderly from the early 20th century.

As a goal achieved, it could be said that a new-build home with timeless lines has been achieved, with its own personality, with great environmental warmth, but above all, to enjoy its interiors, the surrounding landscape and to be very, very lively.
