The article of AUG-ARQUITECTOS, SLP published in the newspaper Levante-El Mercantil Valenciano is concerned with the concept of “star architect”. This has emerged as a particularly overemphasized concept in the wake of the economic growth which has taken place over the last decade, leaving behind as a legacy the burden a deficit which must be faced by those who must pay for the execution and maintenance of this type of intervention. This situation is increasingly affecting many Spanish cities as a stone-slab. For years, many famous architects have been involved in this kind of activity with evident contempt of the built environment and full disregard for the economic control of their works. With the support of the public officials who hired them, huge works have been executed which are overpriced and in most cases useless.
