DESCRIPTION
Restoration of a flour watermill and its raft, in the Sierra de Espadán (Castellón)
The aim was to restore a small flour watermill and its raft, both municipally owned. Together these elements had great ethnological and patrimonial value, as well as notable architectural interest, as a sample of popular architecture. With this adaptation, it was intended to promote activities within the rural tourism of the municipality.
The restoration proposal was absolutely respectful with vernacular architecture, not only in the architectural language, but also in relation to sustainable construction materials and their executing procedure, in the traditional and artisan way. It was given life to an architectural and ethnological property that was originally dilapidated and devoured by vegetation, making it easier for neighbors and outsiders to enjoy their visit.
